Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extra-ordinary Ministers are invited into the sanctuary to assist the priest (who is the "ordinary" minister of communion) in the distribution of the Eucharist during Mass.

Eucharistic Ministers serve the Precious Body and Blood during Holy Communion at Mass.

EM's modest and formal attire, personal spiritual preparation, and prayerful and reverential presence maintains the dignity of this ministry. Formation is provided. You must be at least 16 years old and have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist. Ems are commissioned for a 2-year period with “renewal” as needed. As an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion you are called to a solemn and special ministry that puts you at the center of the Church's life.
